just because it's on my to-do list...

...I shall update.

I would like to discuss the Columbia shuttle disaster, but honestly, it makes me too upset. I think people in this country have become so desensitized to death, crime, murder, everything that people in other countries face on a daily basis, that when things like this happen, or something like September 11th, we just don't know how to deal. [livejournal.com profile] crzydemona wrote in her lj that the media is just out of control and ridiculous about this tragedy, and I agree. It's not that there shouldn't be any news coverage, it's just that the images of the shuttle streaming down towards earth in a ball of fire are just too much for those of us who haven't lost our sense of distress over such happenings. I am only going to say one more thing about this: I pray for the families of the astronauts that were lost. Those were 7 of the mose brilliant people in the world, and to lose them like this is so devastating to me that I cannot even begin to imagine what their families are feeling.

Sorry for the depressing post, to anyone who is reading.
