Post-Holiday Catch-up
Jan. 7th, 2003 10:37 amOh, my dear Potterfiends, I have neglected you so! Anyone unfortunate enough to have added me to their friends list (all 5 of you, LOL) has been cheated out of my existence on their Friends page. Woe!
Anyway, I am back. Had a lovely Christmas with my family. We outdid ourselves with gifts this year, and it was wonderful. My boyfriend in particular bought me everything on my Amazon wishlist, clothing, jewelry, and a new phone for my bedroom since my old one is a piece of crap. Beautiful gifts from my parents and sisters as well. And I bought everyone so much stuff it is unbelievable. Of course, I bought the wrong Pearl Harbor DVD for my sister; she wanted the incredibly expensive one that has practically all the same stuff the less expensive one has. Hmph. And the matching monogrammed flannel pajamas from Red Envelope for my parents turned out to be HUGE. I ordered medium, the label said medium, but apparently they meant medium GIANTS because these puppies are insanely large. So, must exchange. Have not done so yet.
Got me a new Harry Potter related book: The Science of Harry Potter. Have only read intro, and it seems interesting, although I doubt JKR wanted a scientific reconciliation of magic by a Muggle. Some things cannot be explained by science, and that's where magic takes over, at least in my view of the Wizarding world.
Have been reading
epicyclical's and
ali_wildgoose's LJs and now have need of matching my makeup to the green tinge my skin has taken on due to the utter envy. A month of playing in England! Can you imagine! No worries! Would that I had the money, the vacation time, the perfect companion! *deep sigh of resolution to live out rest of life without ever visiting Europe due to fear of flying*
Oh! Good news, people. I have been catching up with an old friend from the BSB fandom whose fan fiction has formed my benchmark against which all other fan fiction is judged. Have discovered that she, too, is a Potthead and am so excited!
Now, I must get back to work. On with your far more interesting activities, people!
