the day i had
Dec. 17th, 2003 11:32 pmSaw 2 apartments today. They were both *fine* except that the area of Brooklyn they were in was not ideal. It's so very frustrating, when trying not to get screwed on rent, and have a short commute to work, and find a space that allows for a real, life-sized couch, to take time off from work to go view an apartment that just needs to be moved a few blocks over to be decent.
But I will not compromise on my safety, or rather, my perceived safety. I am not just your regular 23 year old woman living alone. I will freak out--frequently--if I feel my apartment is in a slightly skeevy area.
So, kissed 2 more possibilities good-bye today.
But, tomorrow is another day, and I will be calling about this place again in the morning. I spoke to the realtor during work today, and she basically made me feel like I was wasting her time unless I had my checkbook and a pen ready right then and there. Um, whatever, the apartment looks great and the fee is not horrible. Right??
I hate this apartment hunting thing...I just don't know if I am going about it the right way. But I do know that I want to visit that apartment, and I want the chance to say if I want it or not. Hmph.
