I am going to see an apartment all by myself today. This is a big deal for me, as I am stepping way out of my comfort zone to do it. No one can come with me and the realtor guy kind of took over and set this up really quickly. So I'll be leaving in 40 minutes to take the train to Brooklyn and see about this apartment! EEP! Wish me luck!

I FOUND IT!
Jan. 5th, 2004 04:30 pmI found a decent apartment! It has shiny wood floors, new tile and countertops in kitchen and bathroom, one exposed brick wall in living room, skylights in living room and bathroom, 2 closets, one of which is in the bedroom.
*dreamy sigh*
I can't believe I just picked up the phone to call this place today, to find out about when I could see it, and was shown it within 2 hours. I just faxed the application to the realtor now, and pending credit check (which should be no problem), I will be signing a lease shortly.
After all the looking and bitching about how annoying it is to be looking, this place feels right. It is small, to be sure, but I am only one person and it has enough space for me and my books. :)
*crosses fingers that application and credit check, etc. work out well!*
ETA: Of course, there has to be minor drama. The fax hasn't gone through all this time because the guy is using the computer! So, he asked me to wait 10 minutes, then try again. He's lucky I don't have to run to catch my bus, but am going home with my dad! Anyway, just a few more minutes. He said "looking forward to working with you," which sounded promising. We'll see.
