Admin. Professionals
Apr. 27th, 2005 09:52 amWhy do they bother to call it "Administrative Professionals Day"? The world has gone P.C., which we all know, but honestly, is there any need to further delude the people who fall under the "administrative professional" category by trying to give them a fancy-sounding title? I know that I am the butt monkey in my department, often called upon to do things like service the copy machine (pull ripped pieces of paper out from between the gears) and order office supples (they don't call me Staples Bitch for nothing). There is no need to make me feel worse by insisting that I consider myself a "professional." Here I am, Sandra Dee, the professional paper tearer-outer, professional office supply orderer, professional does all the signing and most of the damage control, but gets none of the glory and certainly a fraction of the paycheck.
Happy Administrative Professionals Day, everyone! Especially those of you who, like me, hold a college degree but whose job function currently includes monitoring the inventory of bottled water before the next Staples order.
