Have sold the registration and ball ticket. Still have a ticket for the Friday Keynote Dinner available, face value of $75. Looking to sell it for face value or best offer, so come on folks, who wants to attend the Keynote Dinner?

The discussion topic is Moral Twilight: When Absolutes Are Shadowed in Fantasy Literature, and published YA fantasy authors such as Holly Black, whose books I actually own and I am truly upset at the idea of missing her talk!

I have refrained from giving any of my predictions, suspicions, etc. here thus far, but I will make some now. I always want to talk about the things I am most afraid of, brought on by [livejournal.com profile] slytherincess's post but I almost don't want to think about it. Am I too emotionally invested in Harry Potter? Is there such a thing? LOL.

This is what I wrote in response to [livejournal.com profile] slytherincess's question: What are your canon boggarts?

I'm psyched about new canon, but there's always the fear that things will just be "wrong," just not the way I pictured them. I'm terrified of a trio death, although I don't really see it happening until book 7. I also would be miffed if we didn't see more development of Draco, because he has SUCH potential to be kick-ass, be it as a villain or not. To date, he's been more of a whiney brat, and I think he can be so much more than that.

Grawp...just...GAH. Put us out of our misery, or else explain why we had to read about him for so long in OotP.

No one has mentioned Sirius at all here, but I am afraid we won't learn more about his veil incident. Truly dead, sure, but HOW? WHY? Especially WHY????

What else? I agree with many of the others who said things like they'd like to see a strong female character. I didn't even realize it, but that is a serious lack. I am afraid of some of Molly Weasley's boggarts turning out to be real. I want tons more info on the Dept. of Mysteries, and I am putting a lot of faith in JKR not to let us down in that area.

I am not even thinking of ships at this point. Whatever happens, happens, and we have fandom to ease any disappointments.

Really, my biggest fear is that Ron will die. I've already said to some people IRL that I will publicly burn my book if that happens. A tad dramatic, but it's that serious!

I am sure I have more to say, and that will come later, in other Half-Blood Prince installments.

I have remained essentially spoiler-free this time around, because I still remember the agony of reading OotP having been spoiled about the Heinous Death. On the one hand, sure, it was good to be prepared, as it were. On the other, I really did only have a "clue" so I was still on edge for 750+ pages.
