just because it's on my to-do list...
Feb. 4th, 2003 03:52 pm...I shall update.
I would like to discuss the Columbia shuttle disaster, but honestly, it makes me too upset. I think people in this country have become so desensitized to death, crime, murder, everything that people in other countries face on a daily basis, that when things like this happen, or something like September 11th, we just don't know how to deal.
crzydemona wrote in her lj that the media is just out of control and ridiculous about this tragedy, and I agree. It's not that there shouldn't be any news coverage, it's just that the images of the shuttle streaming down towards earth in a ball of fire are just too much for those of us who haven't lost our sense of distress over such happenings. I am only going to say one more thing about this: I pray for the families of the astronauts that were lost. Those were 7 of the mose brilliant people in the world, and to lose them like this is so devastating to me that I cannot even begin to imagine what their families are feeling.
Sorry for the depressing post, to anyone who is reading.
