Aug. 12th, 2004 10:21 amThis morning, Frank came to me and asked if Pat had told me, before
she left on vacation, about 2 requests for check that were part of the retirement
packages for 2 professors retiring this year. I said, no, she hadn't
mentioned them at all. So Frank went into her office to see if she'd
left them on her desk, and came back with a check in hand that needed
to be deposited. Basically, someone had given Pat a check for $75,000
that needed to be deposited into an account, and she hadn't done it!
Frank said, "When you get a chance, can you please deposit this? I
don't like Pat holding on to checks."
And I got this overwhelming feeling of A-HA!!! She's not perfect!
Now you know! She leaves things in her inbox! I'm the one who does
all the real work around here! LOL. Anyway, then he said he can't
really tell what's a copy and what's an original waiting to be
processed in her office, and although he knows I have a lot to do,
would I please go in there and see what needs to be done and take care
of it? So of course, I said, yes, absolutely, I'll take care of it.
LMAO. I am so evil, but I feel like I am being recognized. A nice
change from Monday morning, the first day of Pat's vacation, when
Frank said to me, "How are we going to get through the next 2 weeks?"
And I wanted to kick him in the shins. Instead I just said, "We can
do it!" in an enthusiastic manner, inwardly rolling my eyes.
Anyway, when I went into Pat's office, I found TONS of checks she
hadn't deposited. I have NO IDEA what possessed her to leave them
there instead of just doing something about them, or telling me to.
This in addition to the fact that she made a mistake on the STARS
allocation template for the Management Communication dept. (and God
know which other ones!) that the dept. chairperson emailed me to ask
about. The thing is that she's the only one who got the list of the
new 2005 charges for things like secretaries, which come out of the
STARS allocations in the depts., so I couldn't have known that the
number she put in there was wrong. This is a problem, because
although she might think this is "her" job (and keep in mind that 2
years ago when Paul was here, *I* was the one who did this!) when
she's going to send the templates out and then go away to fucking
ALASKA for 2 weeks, she should probably brief me, or give me the
information I'll need in case people have questions. Not to mention
that she set a deadline for the dept. chairs to send her the completed
allocations by Friday the 20th, so when she gets back to the office on
Monday the 23rd, it'll be ready for her to look at. So she really
planned on missing the ENTIRE process! Can you believe this!!??
OK, off to deposit millions of checks! I'm super evil for being amused...
