The reactions to this year's presidential election have been very interesting to read. I have seen people excited about Bush's victory, and I have seen people completely dejected over Kerry's defeat. I voted for Kerry, because I felt his views were more in line with mine than Bush's are, but as I live in New York, a known blue state, my vote didn't end up meaning too much. The biggest surprises for me were the the large margin by which Bush took the popular vote and the fact that "moral values" became the number one concern of so many voters.
I want to explain more about how I feel, but I am at work right now and don't have time for a lengthy post. I was very angry about Bush's winning the presidency again (and fair and square this time), but it's what I expected. I'm getting over it now, and trying to look ahead 4 years and see what good can be done despite being stuck with a president I did not think was the better man for the job. I'm trying to be positive.
